Farmers’ Market seeks volunteers

As the city prepares for its Farmers’ Market season, officials are seeking volunteers to lend a hand. The city-run program includes a Tuesday market, which will operate from 2 to 7 p.m. June 12 through Oct. 23, and a Saturday market that will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 7 to Sept. 29, not including Labor Day weekend. Volunteers are needed on both market days – anytime between 1 and 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturdays — to help with setting up and breaking down equipment, assisting vendors and patrons, and other tasks. Anyone interested in signing up should contact Pam Lombardini, the market manager, at pjlombardini@comcast.net or 978-745-9592. The Tuesday market will be held on the Leather City Common, 55 Lowell St., and the Saturday market outside the Peabody Institute Library, 82 Main St.
