The Beverly School Committee has submitted a proposed $47 million budget to Mayor William Scanlon for the next fiscal year. The proposal reflects a 2.5 percent increase over this fiscal year. Superintendent Marie Galinski said the district was able to restore 3.8 full-time equivalent positions and not eliminate jobs this year because 24 school employees are set to retire in June. The City Council is scheduled to review the school budget on June 12.
