The town is initiating a program that will enable older residents to do work for town departments in return for a reduction of up to $750 in their annual property taxes. The annual Town Meeting in April authorized $25,000 to introduce the Senior Tax Relief Program in fiscal 2013, which begins July 1, according to Town Manager Richard Montuori. He said the guidelines are still being developed, but that the program will be open to residents age 60 and over who meet income requirements.
