Festival of Trees announces grant reciepients

The Festival of Trees of Methuen has announced the recipients of its 2012 Preservation Grant Program, which is funded through its annual holiday events. This year, donations will go toward repairs and upgrades to the Searles organ at Forest Street Union Church in Methuen; restoration of the 1862 Williams Stevens organ in St. Anna's Chapel in Newburyport; reparations to the Old Meetinghouse in Sandown, N.H.; restoration of the 1840 Hand Tub House in Haverhill; window work at the 1835 Union Congregational Church in Amesbury; and reparations to the tower at the Hampstead, N.H., Meetinghouse. To date, the festival has donated $1.15 million to fund 102 preservation project grants throughout the Merrimack Valley.
