Northern Essex Community College graduate Chantal L. McGovern of Haverhill recently received the NECC Alumni Award for Outstanding Achievement from the NECC Alumni Association. McGovern was honored for her leadership on campus. She is one of the longest serving staff members at the NECC Observer, the college’s award-winning student newspaper. Most recently, she served as executive editor and circulation manager. In addition, McGovern also works at the NECC library. She graduated with high honors with psychology, writing, and middle/high school teaching options. In September, she will attend the University of Massachusetts at Lowell to continue studying psychology.
