Despite budget struggles, the town library is welcoming two new faces. Amy Sadkin, formerly the director of the Lunenburg Public Library, took over as director this week. Olivia Gatti, a longtime photojournalist in the area, has taken a job as the new youth services librarian. Gatti already has organized several programs for the town's young people, including a summer reading program. The library has endured budget cuts over the past few years, and faces another $34,000 trim in the upcoming fiscal year after a proposed tax increase was voted down in May. It is now open just three days a week in the summer.
