Parson Capen House tours offered

Visitors are welcome to tour the grounds of the historic Parson Capen House this summer. The hours are 1 to 4 p.m. until Sept. 16 (except July 4), Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Built in 1683, the house is among the oldest in country. This National Historic Landmark was built when Parson Joseph Capen served as the town’s spiritual leader. The adjacent Captain Joseph Gould Barn exhibits artifacts from Topsfield’srole in agriculture and shoe manufacturing. For more information, go to topsfield-ma.gov.
