City leaders are encouraging local residents and business owners to take advantage of a savings program being offered to those who have solar photovoltaic systems installed. The Solarize Massachusetts Program, launched in the spring of 2012, strives to reduce the cost of small-scale solar PV systems and increase the technology in selected communities. Each Solarize Mass community has a designated municipal representative and a community solar coach. In Newburyport, the solar coach is Jill Haley Murphy.
