In a joint appointment, the Essex Board of Selectmen and Planning Board recently named Simone Early to the Planning Board. There was no candidate for the position at the May 14 town election. It was previously held by Andrew St. John, who was recently named chairman of the Long-Term Planning Committee. He opted not to seek reelection to the Planning Board when his term expired.
