Superintendent Suprenant to continue part time

After retiring as full-time superintendent on July 1, Robert Suprenant has returned as the school system’s new part-time superintendent with a commensurate cut in pay. Under the new contract approved by the School Board, Supernant will work no more than 30 hours a week at $80 per hour for no more than 160 days during the school year. In return, he will take a pay cut of $65,000 from his $137,600 full-time salary. A new state law allows public employees to collect retirement benefits and work part-time as long as they don't work more than 32 hours a week.
