Medications dropoff box at police station

Residents now have a convenient way to dispose of leftover or expired prescription medications safely and anonymously. Through a program announced by Middlesex District Attorney Gerry Leone  and Police Chief Michael Murphy,  North Reading is among 29  municipalities in Middlesex County now home to MedReturn drug collection units. The units were purchased through drug forfeiture funds collected from arrests. which can be earmarked for rehabilitation, education, and other antidrug programs. North Reading’s drug collection unit is housed at the police station, 152 Park St.  Medications may be disposed of at any time, free of charge.
