The city recently signed a contract with WorldTech Engineering of Woburn to assist in seeking state and federal funds to upgrade Ferry and Elm streets. The company will collect traffic data, including statistics on accidents, for the two major arteries. It also will conduct field observations on traffic flow. The city will use the information and preliminary design documents in applying for transportation grants to help pay for the project, including the costs of construction, engineering, and additional design work.
