Police dog gets bullet/stab proof vest

The town's police dog has gained an extra measure of protection on the job. K-9 Havoc was recently outfitted with a specialized bullet/stabproof vest. The $2,400 vest was acquired by Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog though funds raised by Anthony Vitale, the owner of Anthony David Salon in Burlington. K-9 Havoc is a 3-year-old German shepherd from Slovenia.  In addition to their work in Burlington, the dog and his handler, Burlington Police Officer Joe Papsedero,  deploy with the special SWAT unit of the North Eastern Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council Regional Response Team. The new equipment, a K-9 Storm Patrol-Swat Vest,  provides Havoc with greater protection and comfort, according to Massachusetts Vest-a-Dog. The funds were raised through donations and from the sale of art work, paintings by Vitale, and photographs by Nicole Vecchi, manager of the salon.
