You can fight what is ultimately a losing battle against the ocean for CENTURIES! We pay to put hundreds of miles of beaches back onto the Florida shoreline every year, we can certainly shore-up one little island here!! You don't have to let the sea just take it; you can fight this battle for centuries, even if you ultimately lose. If we can rebuild hundreds of beaches all over this country every year, we can certainly get around to our own North Shore!!!
Nature knows best. Yet it seems the only one's who seem to know better are those with oceanfront homes.
