Dracut man allegedly threw dog, bit cop

A Dracut man will be in court for a pretrial conference on Nov. 28 facing two charges of assault and battery on a person over 60, as well as assault and battery on a police officer, animal cruelty, and vandalizing property. Paul Paquette, 49, was arrested on Oct. 27 when police were called to the home he shares with his parents at 57 Oak Terrace. Paquette’s mother and father told police an allegedly drunk Paquette had slapped and pushed them and kicked their dog, eventually throwing the terrier across the room. When police confronted him, Paquette allegedly bit one officer and kicked another. His parents have obtained a one-year restraining order against him.
