Parking at the Salem station has been a sore spot in the early phases of construction, and commuters looking for spaces won’t have much luck in neighboring Beverly, where construction on another MBTA garage recently began. Last week, T officials cleared a key hurdle that could have delayed work by four to five months, to the inconvenience of some commuters, who showed up at the station on Nov. 5 to find 225 spaces in the current parking lot fenced off.
