Community preservation funding applications due by Feb. 14

The Community Preservation Committee is accepting applications for community preservation funding. The deadline to apply is 4 p.m. on Feb. 14. Each application must include an assessor’s map showing the location of the project for which funding is requested; photographs of the property; written estimates detailing the cost and scope of work; a proposed oversight and management plan for the project; letters of support; and, if applicable, a historic structures report. Applicants must also describe in detail the benefits Newburyport would receive from the project. To date, the city has appropriated nearly $5.9 million to about 60 projects to create and preserve affordable housing, open space, recreation space, and the city’s historic resources. For more information or to obtain an application, contact or call 978-465-4400.
