Selectmen have authorized the use of grant money to operate and maintain its media and broadcasting facilities. Glenn Kemper said needed maintenance has never been performed on the servers and equipment, and that unintended harm had been done by untrained volunteers. Work is being done by Adam Stone to fix server issues, and to upgrade and install new software. Kemper said there is a backlog of material that could eventually be broadcast, including the Memorial Day parade and events hosted by the historical commission and garden club. Eventually, he said, he would like to see the town broadcast as many meetings, activities, and programs as possible, and maybe further down the road recruit local companies to advertise on the town’s public access channel. Selectmen also approved the renewal of the town’s contract with Comcast.
