Residents are invited to take part in Everett’s annual tree lighting and downtown holiday open house Friday. Organized by the city and the Everett Chamber of Commerce, the event begins at 4:30 p.m. in Everett Square, the intersection of Broadway and Chelsea Street. It will include entertainment by Everett High School’s band and choir, and by the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, as well as hot drinks and treats and free raffle tickets. Participating restaurants will offer holiday specials. Children will also have the chance to have their pictures taken with Santa at Everett Cooperative Bank, 419 Broadway, and with Rudolph at Eagle Bank, 466 Broadway, both from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. For more information, call 617-387-9100.
