Wakefield Holiday Stroll slated for Dec. 1

On Saturday, Dec. 1, the fourth annual ’Tis the Season Holiday Stroll will take place from 3 to 7 p.m. in downtown Wakefield.

Free and open to the public, the event will take place along portions of Main and Albion streets, which will be closed to traffic. It will include a Holiday Hat Parade that will start at 3 p.m. from the Americal Civic Center. The day will also feature continuous entertainment.

Starting at 1 p.m. at the civic center, residents can pick up free bags with maps and a directory of the 60 businesses that will participate in the stroll by offering discounts and holiday treats. A special mailbox will be set up for children to post letters to Santa Claus, who will attend the Holiday Stroll with Mrs. Claus.

The stroll is organized by the Wakefield Event Planning Committee with help from local businesses.
