Meeting to discuss zoning for marijuana treatment centers slated for Dec. 12

Malden’s City Council and Planning Board will meet next week to discuss regulations for marijuana treatment centers and define them in the city’s zoning code. Chris Webb, the city’s public health director, previously said the proposed changes to the city’s zoning code would allow marijuana dispensaries in areas zoned for medical use. Massachusetts voters approved a ballot initiative legalizing medicinal marijuana and marijuana treatment centers on Nov. 6. A public hearing before the Planning Board and City Council will start at 7 p.m. Dec. 12 in Malden Government Center.
