Parents frustrated by shutdown of Rangerland preschool

Parents of children at the Rangerland preschool have had to find other options after the Methuen School Department shut it down because of safety concerns for the high school students who worked there. Rangerland was a morning program in which students taught the children under the supervision of a faculty member. When it moved to the Tenney Grammar School this year due to renovations at the high school, the student teachers had to walk between the two schools. Some parents said crossing Pleasant View Street in particular was unsafe, which led to the preschool’s closing. Frustrated parents of preschoolers said they would have been willing to help address the problem had the decision to close not come so quickly.
