The town’s local-access cable television station is offering children the chance to tell Santa what they want for Christmas, and to do it on live television. Following a holiday tradition it began more than 15 years ago, Burlington Cable Access Television is holding its annual “Santa & Mrs. Claus Visits BCAT” program on Dec. 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in its studio, at the rear of Burlington High School, 123 Cambridge St. There is no charge for the visit, and an off-camera area will be set aside for parents to take their own holiday portraits of their children with Santa on the station’s decorated holiday set. Free refreshments will be provided for the event, which does not require reservations. Participating families are encouraged to have their recorders at home set up to tape the show, which will air on BCAT’s public channels (Comcast 9, RCN 3, and Verizon 39). Children who do not come to the studio can call in to the show to speak to Santa. After it airs on television, the program will be available on the video-on-demand portion of BCAT’s web site, www.bcattv.org. For more information, contact BCAT at 781-273-5922 or by e-mail to email@example.com.
