The Police Department is an official drop-off location for the Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots program. Created in 1947, the initiative provides gifts to children in need in the local community. Beneficiaries of the program range in age from infancy to age 17. Each year, Toys for Tots struggles most to provide gifts to babies and teenagers. All of the toys dropped off at the Billerica police station’s lobby, at 6 Good St., will go to families in Middlesex County. Toys must be new and unwrapped. The collection drive will end Dec. 21.
