Tuesday is the deadline for contractors to submit their credentials to build a $4.5 million science lab project at Melrose High School. Information is available online at www.comm-pass.com. The request for qualifications will be used to pre-qualify bidders, who then will be invited to submit actual bids. Melrose is one of several Massachusetts communities selected by the Massachusetts School Building Authority to receive federal money to renovate or build new science labs. The Melrose project involves renovating the school’s 18,000-square-foot science wing. A start date is projected for March 1 and a completion date for Aug. 19, 2013.
