The North Reading Food Pantry needs volunteers and donations. One local food pantry family is in need of gently used girl’s clothes, size 4T. Other items needed this month include: laundry detergent; baked beans; juice-box drinks made with 100 percent juice; canned fruit; cereal (all kinds); soup (not tomato or vegetable); ramen noodles; tea, cooking oil; mayonnaise; salad dressing; cake mix; frosting; brownie mix; shampoo; and diapers (size 5). Individuals who wish to donate items may drop them off at Town Hall, Flint Memorial Library, or the post office, Stop & Shop, or Walgreen’s. Run by the Christian Community Service of North Reading, the food pantry is a nonprofit organization. Housed at Town Hall, 235 North St., the pantry is open 9 to 10 a.m. every Monday and from 7 to 8 p.m. on the first and third Mondays of each month. For more information, call 978-276-0040 or visit the food pantry’s website at nrfoodpantry.org.
