Donations sought for emergency fund

Mayor Robert J. Dolan is appealing to residents to donate to the Melrose Emergency Fund. Money collected helps residents facing hard financial times “My goal is that no one in Melrose will go cold or hungry,” Dolan said in a prepared statement. Money collected helps city residents facing hard financial times pay for food, fuel, and utilities. The fund, which is administered by the mayor’s staff, helped 80 Melrose families last year. Checks can be made out to the Melrose Emergency Fund and sent to the Mayor’s Office, City Hall, 562 Main St., Melrose, MA 02176.
