The advisory committee that plans the town’s annual Sweetser Lecture Series recently announced its lineup of three speakers for 2013. The lecture series will kick off March 20 when Ty Burr, an author and Boston Globe film critic, delivers a talk on “Fame Games: How 100 Years of Movie Stardom and Celebrity Have Changed American Society.” He will be followed on April 10 by author and Boston Globe columnist Kevin Cullen, who will speak on “Humanizing a Sociopath: Putting Skin on the Mythical Bones of Whitey Bulger.” And on May 1, historian and author Stephen Puleo will discuss “The Caning: The Assault That Drove America to Civil War.” All the lectures will be held at 7:30 p.m. in The Savings Bank Theater at Wakefield High School. Net proceeds will benefit local charities. Tickets are $10 per lecture or $25 for the series, and may be purchased at the door or in advance. For more information, call 781-245-7231.
