New computers installed at senior center

Six new computers were recently installed at the senior center, expanding a program that provides area residents with easy access to health information. The Massachusetts General Hospital’s ARCH (Access to Resources for Community Health) website,, provides Internet links to online health information on a variety of topics that has been vetted by MGH staff. The six new computers are dedicated for the public to use in accessing the ARCH website. They replace computers that are now outdated. The website was begun 12 years ago as a collaborative effort by MGH Treadwell Library, Greater Boston Center for Healthy Communities, and the city of Chelsea. The partnership was later expanded to include Revere, whose Ssnior Center was provided with computers in 2010. The program is supported by the New England region of the National Library of Medicine, which funded the purchase of the Chelsea computers. The ARCH program also provides training to the public on how to use the site.
