Kareem Davis , Lowell: The sophomore guard paced the Red Raiders, scoring 15 points, all in the first half, while tallying eight assists as Lowell thumped New Bedford 93-39 on Dec. 21.

Tania Fabo , Mystic Valley: The junior forward was a dual threat, scoring 14 points and snatching 13 rebounds as Mystic Valley beat Pope John 49-46.

John Mastacusa , North Reading: The senior center turned in a mammoth double-double, scoring 26 points while grabbing 16 rebounds, to lead the Hornets to a 69-48 win against Masconomet.

Terrance McKoy , Northeast: The Knights senior netted 17 points and 15 rebounds as he led his team to a thrilling 61-58 win over Mystic Valley.

Deidra Newson , Lynn English: After recording a triple-double last week, Newson filled the box score with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals in a 64-41 win against Beverly.

Game to watch

Lynn English vs. Peabody, Friday, 7: After losing to Revere in the season opener, the Lynn English girls’ basketball team has bounced back with victories against Salem and Beverly. On Friday, the team will be tested when it takes on Peabody (3-0). Last season the Bulldogs got the best of the Tanners, winning all three contests.
