Council decision will speed recycling drop-off

The Town Council has approved moving the swap shop at the town transfer station on Fearon Road to speed up drop-off at the recycling center, particularly on Saturdays, when vehicles have a tendency to form long lines. The move comes as the town tries to persuade more residents to use the single-stream recycling program. Under the plan, the swap shop of reusable items will be moved from the edge of the recycling drop-off area to the space next to the transfer station where propane tanks are currently stored. The move will allow swap shop patrons to park out of the way of cars going to the recycling area.
