Saugus has begun its annual town census. Town clerk Joanne Rappa’s office on Dec. 28 mailed census forms to all households in town. Residents are asked to review the forms, make necessary changes, and return them to the town clerk’s office as soon as possible. Completing the census is necessary for residents to retain their active voter status, as well as to qualify for veterans’ and housing benefits and in-state tuition at state colleges and universities. The town uses census data for planning and in applying for state and federal grants. Anyone who has not received a census form is asked to contact the clerk’s office at 781-231-4101.
