State workers have clear cut a plot of forest near the intersection of Route 1 and the Route 1 Bypass in preparation for the reconfiguration of the intersection. The work will allow crews to move utilities in the area in advance of the intersection work. The $4.8 million project involves the removal of the Lafayette Road bridge and the creation of a new intersection with traffic signals 550 feet south of the existing intersection of Greenleaf Avenue and the bypass.
