The Franciscan Overlay Task Force is scheduled to hold a meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Andover Town Offices at 36 Bartlet St. to update the community on the status of its work and to solicit additional input on the proposed overlay zoning district for 70 acres on River Road that includes the St. Francis Retreat Center. A developer in 2011 had proposed creating an elderly housing community on the land, but withdrew the plans. Still, the proposal spawned the town’s Franciscan Overlay Task Force, which was charged with studying zoning options for senior housing in the area, in the western corner of Andover. The task force’s draft proposal, which will be discussed at Tuesday’s meeting, would allow for housing for those 62 and older.
