The city plans to carry out improvements to parks and other recreational facilities through a $4 million bond authorized by the City Council last month, according to James Marsh, director of community development. The funding includes $600,000 for a project now underway to install air conditioning in the Lynn Memorial Auditorium in City Hall, and $500,000 for repairs and a floating breakwater at the Seaport Landing Marina; $390,000 to upgrade the roof and $200,000 to install synthetic turf at Frasier Field; and $250,000 for repairs to the City Hall steps. Another $100,000 is earmarked for restrooms at the Lynn Woods Reservation, and a combined $300,000 for repairs to the bandstand and fountain in Lynn Commons.
