Organizers are seeking volunteers for the Lowell WinterFest,  taking place on Feb. 8 and 9.  Helpers are especially needed for ballot counting and ticketing at the Soup Bowl Competition,  logistics of the National Human Dog Sled Competition and downtown horse-drawn sleigh rides, and ticketing at the Microbrew Competition. Details and release forms are available at lowell.org.  Additional information is available by calling volunteer coordinator Suzzanne Cromwell at 978- 674-1483, or e-mailing scromwell@lowellma.gov.  Sign-ups are open for teams looking to race in the festival's signature event, the Human Dog Sled Competition, taking place on Feb. 9.  Details, plus entry and release forms, are available at lowell.org
