Town officials would like to remind residents that they must respond by Feb. 15 to the census forms mailed on Jan. 3. State law requires that every community conduct a census during the month of January. The information gathered is used to maintain a voting list and provide demographic data to various town departments, It also helps school officials project local enrollments and provides information for the selection of jurors. The census mailing includes an application for permits for the transfer station. Transfer station fees remain the same as last year: $190 for the first vehicle and $30 for each additional vehicle in the same household. Forms may either be mailed back to the town clerk’s office or dropped off in the red census boxes at Town Hall and the library. For more information, contact the town clerk’s office at 781-721-7130.
