Freyja Sanger has been hired as assistant library director for the Sawyer Free Library, filling a position that has been vacant since 2007 due to budget constraints. Sanger was formerly the head reference librarian in Tewksbury, where she helped develop a mobile website that allowed patrons to search the library catalog, download e-books, and perform other functions from smartphones and tablet personal computers. “We’ve had so many projects percolating for the past six years,” said Carol Gray, library director. “Now we have somebody to assist in implementing those projects.”
