Officials in Medford are looking into changing city’s winter parking ban, which remains in effect throughout the season whether there is snow or not. From Dec. 1 to April 1 each year, parking is limited to one side of the street in all Medford neighborhoods. This can lead to arguments — and sometimes fights — over spaces in parts of the city where parking is tight, City Councilor Breanna Lungo-Koehn said in a recent council meeting. “It causes a real problem, for not the entire community, but a good portion of it,” Lungo-Koehn said. Lungo-Koehn called for a resolution during the council’s meeting Jan. 15 to implement a pilot program in which the parking ban is only in effect during snow emergencies. The council unanimously agreed to send the resolution to the city’s Traffic Commission for consideration.
