Mayor Judith Flanagan Kennedy has vetoed a proposed city ordinance restricting the location of medical marijuana dispensaries in Lynn, citing a concern that it might be unconstitutional.
Concerned about possible public safety impacts, some cities and towns have adopted or are considering local bans or restrictions on the locations of dispensaries, while others are waiting until after the state issues regulations by May 1.

The majority of residents in every town and city except two voted to allow medical marijuana (see results here: http://www.boston.com/news/special/politics/2012/general/mass-ballot-question-3-election-results-2012.html) yet all I read about is town after town trying to completely ban dispensaries. Is this an epidemic of NIMBYism, or town leaders being out of touch with the people, or both?
I think its decent people understanding what damage the loser stoners will do congregating in their towns.
