A new open position has been added to the ballot of the April 23 annual town election. James Terrence French resigned his seat on the Planning Board effective Jan. 31. At the election, voters will choose someone to fill out the remaining year of French’s five-year term. Meanwhile, at the Board of Selectmen’s meeting Monday selectmen and the remaining members of the Planning Board will jointly appoint someone to fill French’s seat until the election. The two boards are also set to consider the reappointment of an associate member of the Planning Board, Catherine Johnson, whose term is expiring. Associate members are appointed.
