At the School Committee’s meeting on Monday, School Superintendent Lisa Dana will provide an overview of the district’s fiscal 2014 school budget proposal and a review of the district’s accomplishments in the first half of this school year. The committee will also hear updates on the high school building renovation and expansion project and the district’s special education services, and a presentation on the teacher mentoring program. In other business, the committee will consider final passage of the Holten Richmond Middle School’s program of studies for 2013-2014. It will hold its annual public hearing to consider whether to accept out-of-district students next year through the state’s School Choice program. Danvers currently does not accept school choice students. The committee also will consider first passage of a policy in which the district would pledge to maximize recycling at the district’s school buildings. Adoption of the policy is a condition of the district’s receipt of $18,113 in state funds awarded last year to expand recycling at the schools.
