Zoo welcomes five Mexican gray wolves

The Stone Zoo recently welcomed five Mexican gray wolves, all brothers, to its expansive Mexican gray wolf exhibit. Zoo New England, the private, nonprofit corporation that runs Stone Zoo and the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, participates in the Mexican gray wolf species survival plan. Through the plan, Zoo New England partners with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, state agencies, several zoos accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and others to breed captive Mexican wolves for reintroduction and recovery in the Southwest. The five new Mexican gray wolves at Stone Zoo had been transferred from the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden.  For more information about Stone Zoo, including hours and directions, visit
