Mayor jump-starts shoveling assistance program

Mayor Daniel Rizzo recently began a program that connects willing volunteers with individuals who need help shoveling their sidewalks, entrances, and driveways throughout the winter. The Snow Angels program was launched just prior to the Feb. 8-9 snowstorm with the assistance of the Revere High School Army JROTC Patriot Battalion, under the leadership of Sergeant Major Robert Callender and Major Deborah Bowker. The 28 cadets assisted more than a dozen residents during the snowstorm.
