Salvation Army fund helps pay energy bills

The Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department is making its annual appeal to customers to support the Salvation Army’s Good Neighbor Energy Fund, which assists Massachusetts residents who are having difficulty meeting their energy expenses but do not quality for state or federal funds. Last year, the fund helped 1,872 families pay their energy bills. Customers recently received a Good Neighbor Energy Fund envelope with their bill, which they can use to make a tax-deductible donation in any amount to the Salvation Army.
