Schools propose $128.5 million project

The town’s Education Facilities Planning Building Committee on Feb. 14 submitted its preferred schematic report to the Massachusetts School Building Authority. The report is the second step in the building authority’s three-part feasibility study, according to Superintendent William H. McAlduff Jr. School district officials are proposing a a $128.5 million project that would include an 18,900-square-foot addition and renovation of the existing high school on Skillings Road. The School Building Authority could give district officials the green light to move to the schematic design stage, the final component in the feasibility study, as early as April 3. McAlduff said he hopes to have the schematic design completed this summer.
