Hotel proposed for Davis Square

Five proposals for the development of a small hotel in Davis Square will be reviewed by an advisory group, which will make a recommendation to Somerville Mayor Joseph Curtatone. The proposals offer options on the possible construction of a boutique-style hotel on what is now a municipal parking lot at the corner of Day and Herbert streets. The 11-member advisory group, led by Steven Azar, a planner for the city, includes neighborhood residents, Alderwoman Rebekah Gewirtz and Alderman John Connolly, and Rob Gregory, the owner of Redbones restaurant. The group plans to hold interviews with potential developers and has scheduled a public hearing for Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Community Baptist Church, 31 College Ave.
