The Independent Reviewers of New England recently nominated Stoneham Theatre for eight awards. Founded in 1997 by Beverly Creasey of The Boston Arts Review and Larry Stark of The Theater Mirror, the IRNE Awards celebrate excellence in the Boston theater community. Stoneham Theatre’s Season 13 opener, “Lumberjacks in Love,” has been nominated for four IRNEs: Erik Diaz for best set design; Steve Barkhimer for best musical director and best supporting actor in a musical; and Harry McEnerny, also for best supporting actor in a musical. Actress Margaret Ann Brady has been nominated for best supporting actress in a musical for her portrayal of Jeanette in “The Full Monty”; her castmate, Colin Breslin, scored a nomination for best young performer; and the entire cast of “The Full Monty” has been recognized with a best ensemble nomination. Rounding out the list, Richard Chambers is nominated for best set design for the English castle he created in “I Capture the Castle.” The IRNE Awards Committee has not yet set a date for its awards ceremony.
