Medford Mayor Michael McGlynn touted public safety improvements and upcoming capital improvement projects during his State of the City address March 6. The city added seven new firefighters and five new police officers last year, and plans to add 11 more firefighters and six police officers this year, McGlynn said. A $2.4 million renovation to Medford High School’s pool is expected to be completed in October, and Medford schools have recently overhauled their security system, allowing for 24-seven recording and a clear view of individuals entering buildings, he said.
