The public library recently held a three-game youth Scrabble tournament that drew 14 teams of students. Twenty-eight fourth- to eighth-graders matched their skills. Included were six teams from the Burlington Library Scrabble Club; four from the Sage School in Foxborough; two from the Woburn Public Library Scrabble Club; and one each from the Morrill Memorial Library in Norwood and the Norman E. Day School in Westford. Prizes were given to the three top-scoring teams, the team with the highest-scoring winter word, and the team demonstrating the best sportsmanship. The Burlington library hosts the tournament twice a year.
